I was looking at hotels (again) today. Last time it was the Mark Spencer which I liked, and I think it's a toss-up between them and the Benson.

I try to avoid the chains in favor of the historic.
The pre-cruise night (courtesy of the cruise line) is at the Red Lion on Hayden Island.
