Not sure why I find this amusing. (Long story ahead) I had to let someone go a couple weeks ago so I reached out to the son of someone that works

here who we interviewed two years ago for the position but passed on. The guy I hired had more experience and the son was more of a fresh out. Figured now, he has 2 more years under his belt perhaps, maybe he's still looking. Didn't hear from him at the email on his resume so reached out to his mom at work and let her know we were looking. He calls me yesterday and we talk, going to set up an interview, send me your resume dude.
So I get his email today. It is the same email address I emailed (ok, guess you don't check it) but the name on the email is "SSFFL Channel"
Um, ok. Weird. I would expect tech people to have some awareness of what they're doing online and not send emails from some weird side email address. But he, what is "SSFFL" anyways.
So I do a quick google and, well, apparently he runs the "Southside Fantasy Football League" including multiple twitter accounts, a Google site that is kinda dead but he also has written a couple articles for thepregamehq.com, one as recently as last week :)
I also found a youtube video of him doing a dunking competition in his backyard from 2012
It's all pretty amusing to me and obviously he is a young guy. Is it wrong though for me to be like "dude, you can't even send me an email from a legit email account with your name on it?"

This was the bane of my existence when hiring at an old job. So many younger millennials had no concept of a professional email address.

i would totally hire him based on all that. (yes, the email is stupid, but mention it to him and move on.) -- nm

I agree with your assessment, but I'm old so I think the correct response to the last statement is, "Okay, Boomer." -- nm

It’s a personal joy to brag when I give my personal gmail address that’s it’s just my last name because I was an early adopter during Beta test -- nm

Yes to your last question. It wasn’t like “hotdude69420” or something like that so I’d say it’s fine. -- nm
