I found out more about her surrender. It is so sad.

She was actually surrendered by one of the organization's own volunteers. He worked for the family business which collapsed in covid. He had to move back in with parents to help everyone reduce expenses and pool resources as entire family lost income.

The organization offered to keep his pets in foster care until he could take them back, but he decided he couldn't leave them in limbo any longer and they needed permanent homes. (He surrendered two but they don't interact at all, and mine just gets mostly irritated by the others rough-housing so they are adopting them out separately).

Anyway, it sounds like they were well loved and cared for.

I feel so bad for the former cat-parents. 😞
