Eff U Microsoft. Finally figured out how to change default search to google after THREE MONTHS.

Found default search engine buried DEEP. All options grayed out. Got a mouseover message saying "This option disabled by Google Chrome watchman".
So I flipped that switch, and that is how you override Bing.
Those fuckers.

Glad you found a fix but what you're describing seems really strange. Google Chrome has the search engine option directly in the main page of settings
