That's just one of the ways that Euro 2020 (played in 2021) has been uh, extra. Alot? -- (edited)

The tournament started on a hold your breath but not in a good way, almost tragedy. Denmark recovered from losing that first match that they were unfairly forced to finish and qualified from their group and then won their first knock out match. Bravo to the script writers
Group F which might have been one of the most deathy, group of death with France, Germany, Portugal, and Hungary went to the last day with Germany not qualifying, qualifying, not qualifying before finally not only qualifying but finishing second. Now all three of the teams that qualified out of the group have been knocked out of the tournament.
With 'own goal' running away with the Golden Boot, it saw see fit to now get to the just watch this point of showing off with the misplay by the goaltender on the shot/pass by his teammate
There's been more penalties awarded at Euro 2020 than any Euro in the past (14) but there's been 4 saved and 2 missed. I'm thinking that might be a record number of penalties not scored in a Euro.
But then there was the perfect through 9 takers shootout between Switzerland and France
There's been goals scored in extra time
