The opening line is among the most famous ones in Norwegian, but I doubt there's even one thousand Norwegians who know the original source for it. Neither did I.

We know it from a Norwenglish christmas series/show for adults, from the nineties, called "The Julekalender".

"Det var en mørk og stormfull aften.. "
