It sucks because there were these kinds of abuses across the board at the time. But you can't say, "Things were different then" aloud.

Because nuance is dead and everyone will ignore everything else about the subject.
Kids are still at risk of being abused, but it's in brand new and horrifying ways we need to remain focused about.
