Continuing with the Othani talk, has there ever been a player named to the All Star team at a non-pitcher position, who has pitched? -- (edited)

Cause yes, I've read the board concern that he might be dinged up and the concerns about him remaining to be an everyday DH and taking a turn in the rotation but look, if the Angels are wasting the careers of now two of the best players for their era, why not let the "Sho" take advantage of a national stage?

I'm really hoping and realistically think that he could put on a mind blowing appearance in the home run derby. Even if he doesn't win, the not quite literal moon balls he'll put up at Coors Field....

On the pitching side, they're gonna need to tweak the rules but since the game doesn't count for anything, why not let the DH pitch and still preserve the DH spot? Let him bat 1-3 in the first and pitch at least the first. Though there's a real chance that a 1 or even 2 inning stint, could mean that Othani wouldn't be his best but he'd still get a chance to show of that he's kind of a unicorn
