Sure. Traditionally, the NL has an overall lower ERA than the AL does.

But isn't one of the biggest points of professional sports that it's the best going against the best?

In this case you have the best (the pitcher) going against someone who probably wouldn't make it to AA as a hitter.

Why should we continue to watch inferior talent going against the best in the world when there's a clear way to even the playing field?
