I dont think the tax prep lobby cares about the simple returns that would benefit from this system, as it wont affect

their money making returns for larger income families.
oh sure, the group that focuses on low-income families and ratchets up fees for silly things would have issued, but the free filing was supposed to help that in some ways anyway.
