USA 17 France 10 Women's 3x3 so the US national teams aren't completely hopeless against France when it come to basketball ;-)
This version of the sport is like basketball on well, 3X speed.
12 second shot clock
The ball is seemingly always live with the biggest speed up being the ball is live as it comes through the net after a made basket. The team that gave up the basketball takes possession at that moment and has to 'clear' the ball past the two point line.
10 minute game
Fouls called (or not called) seemingly like a pickup game. Hand checking, bumping, contact going after loose balls, don't seem to be fouls
The insta-switch from offense to defense and vice versa leads to some interesting fast break chances. Post player takes the ball out of the net, rifles it to teammate parked out past 2 point lane, opposing player closes out the shot, send the ball right back into the post player who has now taken step toward the hoop for an easy and quick bucket.
One would have to be in really good shape to play this game as there's never a chance to take a momentary break. There's no walking the ball up the court obviously but compared to the typical half court game that one might have been played, there's no game stoppage after a made basket. A defensive player that got torched one second is now wide open out on the perimeter if the offensive player who did the torching doesn't immediately recover to play defense after the made basket.
