I can't speak for your particular area but overall drivers don't give cyclists any respect on the road. They drive way too close, don't give the right

of way and will cut them off to make a turn, park or stop in bike lanes and do all kinds of things that make riding a bike on the roads very dangerous.
Drivers don't own the roads but they act like they do and their disdain for cyclists shows.
