and I agree, there are way more shitty drivers than bikers; but whether you are in the right or not, always asssume the other person will kill you and

drive/ride accordingly.
I do the same thing when driving; if I see someone coming up to an intersection with a blinker on, I still wait till they start their turn cause I've seen too many "Homers" just forget it was on and keep going straight.
Saved me a tee-boning a time or too for sure.
