it has a lot more effect on your day to day life. here, we vote locally for our MP and the party with the most MPs gets their party leader as Prime

we DON'T vote for our Prime Minister directly.
which has good and bad aspects. I've found that the person I want to represent me, locally, might not belong to the party i want to have in power.
