Netflix's #1 shows consistently match with what is the biggest show for the corresponding week in the Nielsen ratings. Disney's trending doesn't. Maybe you should wait for Trending to show value before you assign it some.
Disney calls theirs "Trending" and it probably should be lumped with Twitter trending instead of what's actually being watched.
Just think about this, you're trying to say that a film that made more than 9 times what Raya it's opening weekend, made a little over half what Raya did on Premiere Access. There's just no chance Raya made more than Black Widow did in Premiere Access. It makes no sense at all.
Also, if Disney was waiting for the greenlight to disclose numbers, and got it, why did ScarJo immediately sue them about it? Wouldn't they have wanted to get their stars happy as well, if it's PR and suing they were worried about.
Did you notice that Disney said nothing about Black Widow's second weekend on Premiere Access? Most likely because the amount of money drops off precipitously after the first weekend. I mean who says, "I need to pay $30 to see this movie but I'll wait two weeks to do it!"
More likely, Raya's repeat viewing on Premiere Access was so high because it got the repeat viewing that Moana, Frozen and Frozen 2 see so much on the service. People weren't buying it after the first weekend. It's just that the people who bought it watched it over and over. I mean Reagen jokes about this with his kids all the time on your podcast.
The only numbers we truly have for Premiere Access are the Black Widow and Jungle Cruise ones. They also happen to be the film's with the biggest opening weekends. That's not a coincidence.
