And just realized it *should* be back at Pecos Pueblo next year. That's a *long* 2-day drive (for me) from here to Santa Fe. It originated at

Pecos in 1927 when Alfred Kidder was excavating there and at the end of the field season he invited his archaeological buddies to join him in camp and talk about their projects. The conference has been held in the Four Corners area almost every year since and every five years they go back to Pecos.
And it's still pretty much a bunch of archaeologists meeting in camp and talking about what they've been doing.
