our trip to Iowa (we took my wife's SUV) the check engine light was not on when we got back. That all being said, acceleration seems a bit better though that could be a placebo effect. Good news is, the engine didn't catch fire or destroy itself on my drive to work. There apparently is an exhaust and an intake VVT. I think I replaced the exhaust one which I think was the code I got.
If I have more trouble, I'll just replace the other one also. It was pretty easy.
