I have Google Calendar for my/our personal use, and the stock Android Calendar syncs with Outlook (though I turned it off because it sucked).

I know that my Google Calendar will sync with Outlook, but I use that for personal and didn't want them both on the same calendar.
You might also need to check your settings in Outlook (desktop/app) to see if it's syncing all the time or only sporadically, as well as the calendar app. I know MrsJax has some syncing problems in the past and we had to get them on the same page.
