My thoughts on this are varied as we are going through it now. We saved about $160k for our kids college plus out of pocket expenses (they had equal that in scholarships). I do think -- (edited)

that state school debt may need different consideration than private school debt. I'm not convinced we need loan forgiveness. I do want to see free education advanced (community college, state schools). I know I'm all over the map on this one.
