This is why I prefer straight cash back, no need to worry about transferring points and whatnot. -- nm

Definitely easier and in many cases just as valuable. There are some notable exceptions especially with Chase where I can redeem points

Well, that also is the value of the Chase points. I can transfer them as miles or pay myself back (1.5x value) or use them in a variety of ways
