So I get 3 Hilton Honors Bonus Points for each dollar of eligible purchases. I get 6X that for gas, grocery, and restaurants. 12x on hotel purchases.

I'd say a "free room" is anywhere from 20k-45k points normally, and it's too late in the day for me to figure out the math.

The different cards that have an annual fee also come with a free room, so it washes.

ok. that's not bad. Figure 4.5 points per dollar average with a 30k average redemption. Comparable to 1 point per dollar and a 6.6k redemption. -- nm - oblique Aug 4, 13:18
