I actually view it as more a function of how much of the school will take the day off.

One of my kids' schools is roughly 45/45 Jewish/Christian with the other 10% in the "other" category (actually probably less than that). I think it makes perfect sense to close on both Jewish and Christian important holidays (as they do). If it was 10% Jewish I would be fine with them staying open on those days and us working around them.
