It was 1998, I was old enough and there was a table set up right outside the student union food court.

I got a free t-shirt! I also think at the time they were still ahead of everyone else in the cash back rewards, but now they’re among the lamer ones (1% back on everything, quarterly 5% back offers, currently restaurants). Still, it’s my only physical card for places that don’t take Apple Pay.
I’ve considered doing that whole churn thing to take advantage of rewards, but I like having pristine credit and I don’t travel enough to take advantage of that sort of thing.
