Covid proof: Download the app My Bindle...lots of venues are using this so you can prove your vaxxed....

Venues in cities such as New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Minneapolis and Nashville already have implemented new restrictions requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for admission, including all 41 Broadway theaters and the upcoming Bonnaroo festival.

Josh Baker, executive director for the venue alliance, said the surge of the COVID-19 Delta variant has put live entertainment’s comeback in peril.

“This is a proactive move to ensure our independent venues can continue producing shows,” Baker said. “We’ve been through this before, and we’re building on what we’ve learned. This time, the responsibility lies on venues and promoters to set the standard of producing COVID-era events.”

By downloading the Bindle app and submitting images of vaccination cards or recent test results, attendees will be registered when venues and organizations announce events that require proof of vaccination or negative test results.

Indy is looking forward to a robust fall arts season, but options like Bindle are becoming necessary to ensure that venues and organizations have the tools they need to adapt and safely remain open,” said Julie Goodman, president and CEO of the Arts Council. “The goal is to provide a consistent option that gives event attendees agency over their personal information and venues/organizations agency over their safety requirements. We’re all accustomed to showing our ID or presenting a ticket for an event and this is just a simple step in that process.”

Several Indianapolis businesses have activated profiles on the Bindle platform in advance of formal announcements on revised safety policies.

“Our goal is to put on safe events and make this as easy on our customers as possible,” said David Allee, director of Indy Jazz Fest. “With many local venues working together through one central platform the impact on the customer experience and staff workload should be minimal.”

Bindle’s entry pass information is encrypted and stored on blockchain technology.

“We built our software to provide both privacy and security utilizing Self-Sovereign Identity technology, in which users have complete control over their own identity and health information with no central database to track or hack,” said Gus Warren, co-founder and CEO of Bindle Systems.

To find the Bindle app, event attendees can visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store on mobile devices and search for “My Bindle.” A profile picture, date of birth and an email address are required to set up an account.

To search for vaccination sites by ZIP code, visit the federal government’s vaccines.gov website. A list of COVID-19 vaccinating clinics in Indiana is available at coronavirus.in.gov. You can register for a vaccination at the Indiana website, or you can call 211 (866-211-9966) for assistance.
