AEW/Impact spoils question

So Christian Cage is an AEW wrestler who won the Impact belt on an AEW show…Christian isn’t nearly at the level of Omega overall so how in the hell didImpact sign off on a non-Impact guy winning the belt just to presumably drop the belt on Impact in the near-term?

Like, does this make Impact look better in any way? The next legit Impact champ…he doesn’t even get the rub of beating Omega with his collection of belts; they get a 50yr old WWE castoff.
