Sure, but at that point there were, what? two companies even in a position to do it? With none having much experience.

SpaceX and ULA have many launches to ISS and putting payloads into LEO, Blue Origin has what, exactly?
I hope Blue Origin succeeds, but put some stuff in orbit, deliver a few things to ISS them maybe ask to take things to the Moon.
