I think Marvel is confident now that they can introduce new characters into their own movies without shoehorning them into other movies. Ant-Man didn't have a previous MCU appearance before introducing the character in his movie.

And the Ten Rings have been a part of the MCU since the first Iron Man movie, most prominently in Iron Man 3.

So it's not as if we're all going in completely uninformed.
