Good news! The City Planning Commission has rejected a plan for two very large buildings one block from the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. Yay!!! :-)

This is huge and a little bit of a surprise as the city planning commission is really just a rubber stamp for developers. They almost never reject building plans.

These buildings would have cast shadows on the botanical garden that would irreparable. They would have also been out of line with the rest of the neighborhood which doesn't have skyscrapers or large buildings.

I am so happy they rejected the plan and that the project is basically dead in the water now.
