People are expecting perfect messaging in an evolving circumstance. It's not possible to get it perfect. It changes as the circumstances change.

The vaccine has only existed for about a year and with widespread use for handful of months. Finding out that we need a booster (especially for a variant that arose after it developed) should not be surprising or troubling.
