So I fell into my ancestry rabbit hole and I found this weird thing that I can't resolve.

1900 Census

Head of house - Joseph (Age 50) - Married 12 years
Wife - Bertha (Age 40)
Kids - Mary (11), Paul (10), "Gredie?" (6), Alma (5)

1905 State Census

Head of house - Gustov (Age 45)
Wife - Bertha (Age 45)
Kids - Mary (17), Paul (16), Greta (12), Alma (10)

1910 Census

Head of house - Gustov (Age 50) - Married 24 years
Wife - Bertha (50)
Kids - Paul (21), Margarete (18), Alma (16)

1920 Census

Head of house - Gustov (60)
Wife - Bertha (60)

This all started because I found records related to my great-grandfather where his wife "Mary" died in December 1909 with a tubular pregnancy. Then a record where he married (2nd marriage) Margaret (same maiden last name) when he was 29 and she was 19 in 1910

My grandmother was born to Albert and Mary in Feb 1908
My great uncle was born to Albert and Mary in Jul 1909

I'm not sure it all adds up but it *seems* that Albert married Mary, had 2 kids, she died after getting pregnant RIGHT after my great uncle was born and then he married her sister, Margaret who has weird nicknames in the census

The only glitch in this entire thing is Joseph's record in 1900 (age 50 in 1900) who doesn't match at all to Gustov (age 45 in 1905)
