Of course better education is the proper response. But the response that IS being taken is "EVERYONE VOTE NO MATTER WHAT!!!"

Voting itself is not a patriotic duty, informed voting is a patriotic duty and I see no need to wring my hands over people who fail in their duty to be informed. Regardless of party affiliation.
