In response to "In case you couldn't read the WSJ piece on McFlurries that Spamlet posted earlier - -- (link)" by Meg

Didn’t I - or someone I may have confused for me - post a video about this a while ago?

I’m not sure why WSJ is calling this a McFlurry issue. It’s broadly speaking an issue with McDonald’s soft serve machines and the “right to repair”. When the machine glitches, you’re obligated to contact an authorized dealer and pay a fortune to have it repaired. Someone reverse engineered the troubleshooting and sold software to easily self-repair these machines, and they got smacked down, legal wise.

It’s the same deal with John Deere keeping farmers from repairing their tractors and suing folks who sell you the specialized tools and software necessary, or Apple trying to keep you from repairing your iPhones and refusing to sell you the parts.
