I can only check the past two seasons, but I remember it being similar in previous seasons as well.

2 seasons ago the difference between the top ranked kicker and the 12th ranked kicker was 48 points, or one short field goal per game. That also required you to know Butker would be the top kicker.

Last season the difference was only 41 points, less than a FG per game. That required you to pick Jason Sanders. I'm confident nobody made that call. Also, the previous top guy, Butker, finished 15th. The second guy, Lutz, also missed the top 12.
