If that were true they wouldn't have told Danielson he could wrestle in other places while under contract with them.

They tried to work out a deal with njpw to keep him around. That didn't work so they apparently said he could work other places (njpw I'm assuming) if he signed a new deal.
Still, what really matters is if the people at USA or Fox view them as big losses.
