Does anyone have/had a trampoline in their backyard/front yard for their kids/themselves? How often was it used?

I watch a few home shows and I notice that a lot of families with kids get a trampoline. A lot.
My understanding is they can be quite dangerous even with the netting that surrounds them.
I forget which show I was watching but it seemed like every other house had a trampoline. I'm kind of curious if the kids/parents actually use it often. I feel like it's something you use for 10-15 minutes and then move on to something else. And if that's the case it seems strange to have one. They take up a lot of space in the yard and are an eyesore.

Ours got a fair amount of use. Nowdays I will go lay on it after I mow the grass and occasionally to look at the sky. -- nm

I have wondered this too. I would have guessed people hardly use them. -- nm

I did not. I had to go to visit neighbor kid friends to use one further down the dirt road of my youth. -- nm

we've had one for the past 3-4 years now with the netting (so since grade 6-7 for the youngest). No problems but we have rules around number of kids,

We have one; lots of the families around here have them. Almost all have nets up...they get variable use

We had one. Kids (4-12) used it quite often; then outgrew it. -- nm

My sister has one for her kids. They use it all the time.

I only ask because I saw a reddit post asking about leveling a trampoline in a sloped yard and my initial thought was tossing it in the garbage
