Mop, he's the other guy that worries me somewhat, though he has a big warning to go with him.

Rae is articulate, charming, smart and experienced. But the problem is that much of his experience came from being the Premier of Ontario during the 90's recession and completely fucking their economy over in the process. This will be what the Tories hammer him on should he win the leadership.

And he was also the NDP premier of Ontario, only becoming a Liberal officially during the last Lib leadership race. There are some NDP-leaning voters who will refuse to even consider the LIberals in close race situations with Rae as leader.

That said, he comes across as sincere in his belief that the Liberals are really the future of the left in Canada and he is well spoken enough that I believe Canadians would give him another chance should he become leader. Especially when compared to the unlikeable Stephen Harper.

Should Rae win the leadership and become Prime Minister, it will complete the greatest political comeback story in Canadian history.
