He’s weaker for it. Second election in a row where the Tories got more votes. Liberals will internally start causing more caucus headaches.

It’s a party made in his image and that matters, but his life gets harder than it would have otherwise. The polling mirage earlier this summer gave him more influence than the election result reality.
