A tip I stumbled on that helped me officiate weddings: Pick out a collegial semi-stranger in the audience, someone you know a bit, but are not quite friends with. And focus on them when speaking. Any time you feel the emotions welling up, look at them.
There is something about sharing information with someone new versus sharing familiar information with a friend that provides some emotional separation.
Dunno if it'll work for you, but it helped me when the other cliche'd advice didn't.
