I tend to like heavier bands (Tool, NIN, Korn, etc), and I think a few reasons that (I think) I like them so much:

1. Most of their songs are not typical 4/4 time structures, and a lot of them weave multiple time signatures. Similar to other bands like Tool, Rush, Yes, etc., who I also like a lot.
2. They bounce between hard rock, rock, pop, and ballads pretty seamlessly, and in most of those they also have a LOT of heavy riff breaks in songs, like in End Of or That Golden Rule.
3. Lastly, I think that since they're NOT very well known here, I had discovered them and they were "mine" before they were most anyone else's. (Even though I didn't get into them until 2010, 11 years after they started and were already huge overseas.) I was into bands like Metallica, Tool, Korn, Muse, etc., before they got "big," so I latch on to bands like that from the get-go. The fact that Biffy Clyro isn't "big" here makes them even more of a treasure for me, I think.
