had slowed production in response to slowing demand; it takes time to ramp back up. also some factory shutdowns bc outbreaks. now long lead times for chips. chips are back in production no prob but now demand is greater bc there were no chips for a while.
exacerbating this: everyone wants a new dock bc wfh. everyone wants an ipad for their kid's homeschool.
also: there are 60 container ships off the coast of CA because slowdowns and outages impacted docks, too.
also: truckers, factory workers are in short supply bc they're reulctant to come back to work after pandemic.
perfect storm. my trader joe's was out of pork shu mai yest, even.
