Long Weekend Report (Day 1): 3 Girls and their Buddy: A

Concert at the zoo. They had a larger temporary stage set up. Somehow, this meant we could set up our blanket on the hillside (far from the stage, but with a great view). Emmylou Harris, Shawn Colvin, and Patty Griffin, with Buddy Miller. Beautiful melodies, harmonies, and variety. The four artists took turns at lead, with some songs more like solos with backup, and some more like an ensemble.

Riley flirted with every lady in proximity, including the (one month) older baby girl on the next blanket, the zoo volunteers, and the lady at the Metropolitan Market stand (where he scored a reusable shopping bag and some brown sugar-encrusted almonds).
