I personally consider SNL, In Living Color variety shows. Not in the same category as regular TV shows.

same with Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Chernobyl. I consider those mini-series.
basically anything that has recurring plot and characters season to season, whether drama or a sitcom, as TV shows.
