There's actually a big movement now to stop waking up hospitalized patients now in the middle of the night to do routine things

for very similar reasons. Interrupting the recovery time lengthens it. You don't need to disturb folks for routine weight measurements or temperature taking. Let them rest and get better.
The old joke is "Wake up, Mr. So-and-So. It's time for your sleeping pill."
