So, we bought a car on Friday. Don't have it yet, but we bought it. 2022 Kia Niro PHEV.

I think I came out pretty well in the process all things considered.
Sticker was $37,965
Price at the dealer was around $40k as they had a number of other add-ons that they performed (door guards, rear-safety light, etc.) I wasn't too pleased about that at first blush.
We had a Sorrento SUV coming off lease. Carmax quoted me $24k unseen. Lease payoff is $17.5k. Dealer offered me $20. I really didn't want to deal with selling it to carmax so got them to give me $22.5 for it giving me about $5k equity to put towards the new purchase.
They weren't going to move much on the price of the car.
Can't remember off the top of my head how far down we got but it wasn't much $1k maybe. Got the car financed at 0.9% for 5 years. We did extend all the warranties to 10 years and should get the car this week.
Given how the market is, I thought that was a decent outcome.
