It's a 'niche issue' in the sense that most regular folks in America think about voting every other fall.

Few people vote in primaries. Few people vote in off-year elections.
We in ST are the exception. We're far, far, FAR more attuned to news, social and political issues, and similar topics. We're like the "Top 1%" of folks who pay attention to politics.
