I want to know how happy and upbeat people expected her to be. Spoilers.

It seems like most of her childhood was lonely, except for the summers where she had 4 friends who lived near her aunt.
Then one of those friends died, another went to prison for it, and she knew the third refused to talk about it even though he could clear the one in prison.
