Sure, Congress needs a shake-up. Who's doubting that? But mimicking the Tea Party's playbook isn't going to bring about the change needed.

It's just going to make a party that should be uniting even more divided.

What's crazy is that Manchin and Sinema probably would have voted for a $1.5 to $1.8 trillion bill before the progressives made their move. Now it feels less likely that will happen, and we get the added bonus of no bipartisan infrastructure bill.
