That post earlier about the decline in tourism in NYC... It's gonna a lot of mainstay Broadway shows.

Long running shows like Phantom, Aladdin, and even Wicked may close as the bulk of their attendance is tourists.

The shows most in danger are those without known names, or without big stars. There's a huge push to get legacy properties back out right now.

Related, part of the Scott Rudin fallout is that right before everything he bought the revival rights to 5 MAJOR shows that folks wants on broadway.

Likely why the Gem here in town opened with A Chorus Line. Known popular property that they've done before. Minimual set and mostly amateur cast. -- nm
