Ok, and I'm not arguing whether his "facts" are correct (I have no idea). Just the basic concept. -- (edited)

My very republican (but the good kind) former law school roommate is a big fan of universal basic income, in part, because we could dismantle so much inefficient government by not having so many complicated tests around eligibility. You could theoretically get rid of social security, unemployment insurance, social programs like food stamps, etc.
