But more importantly, that it actually looks MORE realistic than the in-camera one, due to frame rate and exposure sensitivity lessening the live action effect. Like how real explosions look like crap on camera.

Another person pointed out that air soft guns can simulate a recoil (by expelling gas), but a decent way to do it is with ACTING.
